A No Run Weekend

For the first time in months, I didn't run this weekend. At all. I can't really remember the last time I didn't do a long run on a weekend, so it's really weird. But with my tendonitis flaring up (badly!) and Kevin being sick one week pre-marathon, we took it easy. It's good, right?

It's mentally hard for me to be so idle on a weekend, although at least we walked around Santa Cruz with friends on Saturday for a little bit of exercise. We had a ton of fun playing games at the arcade, watching sea lions, and buying candy at the little candy store on the boardwalk. Here is my favorite pic from the weekend!


The Malibu Half is next Sunday, and when I run the half Kevin will be running the Full marathon. I hope he gets rid of this cough in time because otherwise it'll be a really rough day for him. I know I'll be able to run through the pain even if my tendonitis keeps up, however my goal is to be feeling good after a few days off and no long run. Last week I had a sports massage that left me super sore for about 3 days after but took the knot away, and I felt good during my personal training session on Thursday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a good race...maybe even a PR.
