Big Sur Squared

I'm so excited to go to Monterey this weekend for the Big Sur 21 miler. (As you may have seen in the last post, I wish it were the full, but sometimes things don't work out as planned!) I am ready for the views, the exciting energy, and yes even for the crazy challenge that I expect this race to be. I'm sure it'll be a struggle to get to the finish at some point, and I'm sure I'll be sore, but it's ok. I can take it. And I'll be stronger for it. At this point I almost can't contain myself, but considering that my hubby just told me to stop jumping around and acting weird I'll try to...

Tomorrow we'll head to Monterey to visit the expo and then have dinner with friends. Two friends are running the 10ish mile and their friend is running the marathon, so we'll have some great company. For the friends doing the 10, it'll be their longest race so far and I'm so excited for them! I hope they love it and never want to stop. Maybe I can talk them into joining us for a half soon.

As if the weekend race excitement wasn't enough, I'm now signed up for the Big Sur half on November 18 too. I entered the Nike Women's half marathon drawing with a few ladies, and sadly we weren't chosen. I was so happy when they said - let's pick another one then! It'll be their first half and I can't wait to run it with them. We chose the Big Sur half and registered yesterday. Plans will be in the works for cute outfits in the very near future. I should mention that I've never planned to run a race and dress cute with other ladies, so this is a new and fun experience!

I'm all packed and ready for this weekend's festivities and the hubby and I will be heading out tomorrow morning for the expo. Instead of staying Friday and Saturday, we are staying until Monday and taking the day off work for a much needed long weekend. See you all on the flip side.
