Good Things Come in the Mail

This past week included a few fun highlights. Most importantly, I ran my 'long run' of 5 miles today as a last prep for the Shamrock Townebank 8K next weekend. I'll be slower than I'd like for sure, but I'm thrilled to be able to run at all. I can't wait to head out to Virginia Beach for the Oiselle team meet up.

Now, what came in the mail you ask?

First, an award arrived in the mail from the Tinkerbell Half - Meg and I registered as a team and took 3rd place in the Open Women's division. Pretty exciting, especially considering I didn't think I'd be running the race due to the hip flexor pain. (Ok, maybe I shouldn't have but that's in the past now.)

Tink Award!

In other fun-things-in-the-mail news, my Bia watch arrived on Monday! I'm really excited to have it on my wrist, and I'll make sure to write a review after a few more runs. So far, I'm enjoying it even more than I expected to.

Packaging. Bia watch with band, Go Stick, charger.

Close-Up on my wrist, I have the turquoise version.

That's all the fun for now. I can't wait until I can share race goals, new registrations, and training updates again, but for now I'm doing the best I can to heal and rebuild with a new gait. One foot in front of the other, a little at a time...

  1. Congrats on the Tink Medal! Thats awesome! I'm really looking forward to your Bia review. I hope I will like mine!

    1. Thanks! I hope you like it too - there were a couple of things I wasn't sure about and now I feel good about it. Mostly it was wearing the go stick as a second piece. The auto-upload to the computer and to Strava (if you want it) is SO cool.

  2. Congrats on the Tink award! That's a pretty sweet plaque. I'll be running the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon so hopefully I'll get to meet you and the rest of the Oiselle team this weekend. :)

    1. Thanks! Ooo and maybe I'll run into you, make sure to yell at me if you see me. :) And good luck!
